AELA AI ("AELA," "we," "us," "our") is a product of AELA Holding Corporation, headquartered in Toronto, ON, Canada. We operate the contract intelligence platform at app.aelapro.ai and the marketing website at aelaai.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our services.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store your actual password). If you sign up via Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers.
Contract Data: When you upload a contract for analysis, we collect the document file itself and the text extracted from it. We support PDF, DOCX, and TXT file formats.
Analysis Results: We store the AI-generated analysis of your contracts, including risk assessments, counteroffer suggestions, negotiation strategies, and plain-language summaries.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or billing address on our servers.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the platform, including the number of contracts analyzed, features accessed, and general interaction patterns.
Technical Data: We automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system for security, rate-limiting, and analytics purposes.
Communication Data: If you contact us via email or use in-platform messaging, we retain those communications.
3. How We Use Your Information
Contract Analysis: Your uploaded contracts are processed through OpenAI's API (currently GPT-4o-mini). Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models.
Account Management: Your email is used for account verification, password resets, billing notifications, and important service updates.
Service Improvement: We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve our platform. We do not use your individual contract content for training or development purposes.
Advertising Attribution: We use the Meta Pixel to measure advertising effectiveness. This involves collecting anonymized interaction data.
Fraud Prevention and Security: We use your IP address and technical data to enforce rate limits, detect abuse, and prevent unauthorized access.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Encryption at Rest: All uploaded contract files are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption.
Encryption in Transit: All data is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
Password Security: User passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 10.
Infrastructure Security: Our platform is hosted on DigitalOcean with industry-standard security practices.
Access Controls: We implement JWT-based authentication with refresh token rotation, CSRF protection, and per-endpoint rate limiting.
Secure File Handling: Uploaded files undergo server-side validation including MIME type checking and magic byte verification.
5. Data Retention
Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
Deleted Accounts: Upon account deletion, we remove your data. Backup systems may retain encrypted copies for up to 30 days.
Server Logs: Technical logs are retained for up to 7 days.
6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with: OpenAI (contract analysis), Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email delivery), Meta/Facebook (advertising analytics), Google (authentication), Apple (authentication).
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use essential cookies (authentication, CSRF protection) and analytics cookies (Meta Pixel). You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
8. Your Rights

9. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in North America. We ensure appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
10. Text Message Communication

11. Children's Privacy
AELA AI is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using AELA AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Service is operated by AELA Holding Corporation, headquartered in Toronto, ON, Canada.
2. Description of Service
AELA AI is a contract intelligence platform that uses artificial intelligence to analyze contracts and provide risk assessments, counteroffer suggestions, negotiation strategies, plain-language summaries, and an AI-powered contract assistant.
3. Important Disclaimer — Not Legal Advice
AELA AI is not a law firm, does not employ lawyers, and does not provide legal advice. All outputs are produced by artificial intelligence for informational and educational purposes only. You should always consult with a qualified attorney before making legal decisions.
4. Account Registration
You must be at least 18, create an account with a valid email, verify your email, provide accurate information, and accept these Terms. One person may maintain only one free account.
5. Subscription Plans and Billing
Free tier available with limited analyses. Paid plans (Solo and Gold) billed monthly via Stripe in USD. Subscriptions auto-renew. Cancel anytime via Account Settings. Refund requests within 14 days at info@aelagroup.co.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: upload malware, access other users' data, process illegal contracts, reverse engineer the Service, use bots/scrapers, circumvent limits, resell the Service, or disrupt infrastructure.
7. Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of uploaded contracts. You grant AELA a limited license to process documents for analysis. Contract text is processed through OpenAI's API (not used for training). You warrant you have the right to upload all documents.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and all related IP are owned by AELA Holding Corporation. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service.
9. Limitation of Liability
AELA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Liability is limited to the amount paid in the preceding 12 months.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify AELA from claims arising from your use of the Service, violation of Terms, or violation of third-party rights.
11. Service Availability and Modifications
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify features at any time. Discontinuation with 60 days' notice.
12. Termination

13. Dispute Resolution
Attempt informal resolution first (30 days). Governed by Ontario, Canada law. Exclusive jurisdiction in Toronto courts.
14. General Provisions
